JongeriusLab

Hella Jongerius started her professional career with Droog Designs, an influential Dutch design collaborative, after graduating from the Eindhoven Design Academy in the Netherlands. She is now realizing her own designs, as well as developing new designs for clients such as Maharam, Vitra, and Ikea, through her own company, JongeriusLab. Her dreamlike sketches are an inspiration in themselves, never mind her unique and beautiful final products - take a look...

~ Textile Designs, for Maharam ~
I have seen these fabrics in person, and they are amazing! They have a quilted look, and a really beautiful "handmade" quality.

~ Bovist Cushion, for Vitra ~
I used this cushion in a kids room for a client up in Rockport, MA. I love the side pleats, and the scooped top. The tag is completely crotched.. another example of the "handmade" quality of Hella's work.

~ Wall Hangings, for IKEA ~
I could totally see these hanging in a library, or living room. I am particularly fond of the deer hanging.. I love how the neckline and right antler extend past the boarder of the piece. This one reminds me of a native american blanket or hanging. And the sketches are so whimsical..
